The available 5.7 L HEMI ® V8 engine with the TorqueFlite ® 8-speed automatic transmission gives the 2019 Ram 1500 a horsepower rating of up to 395 hp. This also translates into a maximum gas payload of up to 1,920 pounds. That’s plenty of power to get the job done and then some. 

If you also need to tow, then you will be impressed to hear that the 2019 Ram 1500 can handle up to 10,710 pounds of towing weight. The 2019 Ram 1500 has been specially equipped to make towing an easy part of your day. It has a Class IV hitch receiver, trailer tow wiring, and a Trailer Sway Control system to prevent your trailer from moving around on you too much.

2019 Ram 1500 – available engines 

We’ve mentioned one engine so far, but the 2019 Ram 1500 actually has three different engines to choose from. The first is the 5.7 HEMI ® V8 engine, mentioned above. A second option is the 3.6 L Pentastar ® V6 engine. The third is the 3 L EcoDiesel V6 engine. The three engines will deliver different performance specifications including fuel economy ratings. 

The first engine has a fuel economy rating of 15 mpg in the city and 21 mpg on the highway. Upgrading to the second option brings you up to 19 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway. If you want to go all out, the EcoDiesel engine provides the best fuel economy of the three, with 21 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway.
